Farewell...

This piece does a good job at conveying your sadness.  As your eyes travel down the piece the color and light disappears and the blackness increases until you have one little star - or one little sparkle of hope surrounded by darkness.  The composition adds to that sense of falling and the distance between the world and the figure conveys the idea that as one goes deeper into depression there is that disconnect from the world around you.  If you ever revisited this piece I would only suggest that you edit the stars and their tails as they do not flow with the rest of the piece. They look very stamped in and if you played with their placement, maybe their opacity and made their tails less straight you would get a better synchronization between them and the background.
